The Aesthetic Dimension of Sculptural Works in Gardens Through the Concept of Design Strategy

Abstract

The researcher showcased the relationship between the concept of design strategy and its application to garden sculptures and its impact on the aesthetic dimension, And the associated study of the surrounding environment, materials, techniques, and many related standards to sculpture and the elements of its construction in an attempt to find the best criteria that can be applied to the design strategy through analyzing some of the sculptural works found in the gardens through six axes that the researcher displayed, It includes the concept of the design strategy and some of the most important standards applied to the environment (gardens) and the sculptures located in them. There is a review of some of the sculptural works in the gardens, which show some of the applied standards and the extent of the aesthetic richness and psychological impact added to them through novelty and creativity, during which the researcher concluded that the sculptor could create aesthetic sculptures to be executed in gardens that were designed according to the standards of design strategy. This relationship between design standards and society has become evident in the field of sculptures, as this type of sculptural work represents a message from the sculptor, as aesthetically pleasing works appear more effective by influencing sensory appeal with an emotional connection. The connotations these works reflect through form and material, which lets community members interact with them and support the relationship between the artist and his community. She recommended the necessity of directing attention towards studying and creating strategies following field and survey studies of the environments in which sculptures are intended to be erected, to benefit from the latest information and data, to lead to the creation of appropriate sculptures following the standards of the design strategy in the field of sculpture.
