Transformation Philosophy to Enrich the Aesthetic of Contemporary Ceramic's Surfaces

Abstract

A group of transformations appeared on arts with their various fields, including ceramics that took it out of its traditional model to the contemporary, these transformations were known with the philosophical dimensions that had a role in giving it a contemporary character. The philosophy of transformation opened new and modern horizons for the transformation of ceramics through new ideas and visions, through which were created the contemporary ceramic works with a philosophical, expressive, and aesthetic dimension. Therefore, we find that the ceramic works that produced by contemporary potters were characterized by different surface treatments that added aesthetic and expressive values in terms of diversity in style and techniques and applying it on the ceramic shape using ores and coloring materials that enrich the symbolic, expressive, and formal aspects of contemporary ceramics. The research problem was represented the following question: Is it possible to take advantage of the philosophy of transformation to enrich the surfaces of contemporary ceramics? The research also aimed to reveal the philosophy of transformation and how it affects the art of contemporary ceramics? In addition to enriching the recipient's thought with the sources of ideas that created contemporary ceramics and giving it philosophical and intellectual dimensions that took it out of its traditional mold. The research assumed that contemporary ceramics were influenced by the idea of philosophy of transformation, which led to the self-expression of ceramic works with new and up to date works, it is also possible to take advantage from the diversity of sources of ideas to find a contemporary ceramic with philosophical and intellectual dimensions. The most important results were summarized is that the philosophy of transformation is the gateway to innovation and the principle on which the contemporary potter relied in completing his ceramic works, through innovating different techniques and methods and creating homogeneity and overlap in the contemporary ceramic form using materials that are compatible with each other, in which increases the aesthetic and expressive values of ceramic works. The philosophy of transformation has a role in contemporary ceramics in terms of making transformations in artistic, intellectual, philosophical, and aesthetic theses.
