تطور التعليم العام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية (1628-1983)

الملخص
تتميز مؤسسات التعليم في الولايات المتحدة بسمعة جيدة حول العالم، تجعل الباحثين مهتمين لاكتشاف تفاصيل مسيرة التعليم في الدولة الأقوى على مستوى العالم في مجالات عديدة، ويهدف هذا البحث لاكتشاف أهم الأحداث التاريخية التي مرت بها مسيرة التعليم العام في الولايات المتحدة، وأثرت عليه خلال الفترة ما بين عام 1628 إلى عام 1983م، وقد انطلقت أول مدرسة فيما يسمى اليوم الولايات المتحدة في عام 1628م في منهاتن في نيويورك، وتبعها افتتاح أول مدرسة عامة في عام 1635م، وهي المدرسة بوسطن النحوية، وقد قسم الباحث المراحل التاريخية في هذه الدراسة إلى ست مراحل، وذلك حسب المراحل التاريخية التي مر بها التعليم ما قبل الجامعي: المرحلة التاريخية الأولى: هي مرحلة ما قبل الاستقلال، أما المرحلة الثانية: تتعلق بالفترة ما بعد الثورة الأمريكية والاستقلال حتى نهاية العقد الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر، والمرحلة التاريخية الثالثة: هي ما بين عامي 1820 إلى اندلاع الحرب الأهلية، وهذه الفترة شهدت تغييرات كبيرة وانتشار للتعليم الابتدائي بسبب جهود عراب التعليم المجاني هوراس مان، أما المرحلة الرابعة: تعرض أبرز الحوادث والتغيرات الواقعة ما بين نهاية الحرب الأهلية وما تبعها من وقائع كان أبرزها: إنهاء الرق في البلاد حتى نهاية القرن التاسع عشر، والمرحلة الخامسة: تبرز أهم التفاصيل عن مسيرة التعليم في النصف الأول من القرن العشرين، والذي شهد ارتفاع لنسبة الالتحاق بالمدارس لجميع العرقيات بما فيهم السود، أما المرحلة التاريخية الأخيرة: فهي تغطي الفترة ما بين 1951 إلى 1983م، وما فيها من تفاصيل، بما فيها أهم القوانين التعليمية ومحكمات المحكمة العليا التي أثرت على مسيرة التعليم العام في الولايات المتحدة.
